    Failed 4th Attempt

When I left the lab I was certain I passed both the troubleshooting and config section.  When I received my score report, I passed the config section and failed the troubleshooting section by what appears to be only 1 ticket.

I am certain that I verified 9 of 10 tickets were correct.  One ticket I totally skipped and did not have time to complete it.

I requested a regrade and hope that things will change, but I am not holding my breathe.

I can honestly say I gave it my best, and at this point I am uncertain if I am willing to invest the money/time to make another attempt.  I just don't understand how I can go into an exam feeling confident, leave feeling confident and then get a big FAIL in the end.

Trying to keep my attitude and spirits up, but I am just at wits end with the CCIE.  3 years of 15-20 hrs a week and close to $10,000 out of my pocket and nothing to show for it.  I think getting a Master's degree would have been easier.

    PinGorilla,

Sorry to hear that - Good Luck on the regrade!Yes

Step back and relax for a while, and then consider your next steps if the regrade doesn't work.

    Hang in there!

    PinGorilla,

I am sorry to hear that and I wish your regrade goes good and you get your number. What I can tell is that even though it costed you a lot of money and time, I am sure the 3 years of study gave you much more knowledge. You may not have passed the test, but you may be a whole lot knowledgeable. It is hard to say that, but I would feel totally disappointed, I know the feeling is not good, but believe me, in a few weeks you will get yourself motivated and knock this out.

If you failed for only a single ticket, you will not need to go through the whole hassle of studying ~15 hours a day and will just review one or other topic and pass the exam on your next attempt.

Don't give up man and I wish your regrade turns out to be a big PASS!

    Re: Failed 4th Attempt

I'm sorry man. There have been a few people passing on regrades lately so don't give up even though that is a small percentage. Seems like you have the skills needed to pass but just had a run of bad luck. I'm sure you'll pass if you give it a final attempt.

Maybe talk to Cristian or Brians about the strategy for your final attempt if you can muster up for it.

    Re: Failed 4th Attempt

Thanks for the positive responses.  I really do not feel too bad about the situation being that I honestly feel 100% that I met the requirements and passed the troubleshooting section.  I saw the verification with my own eyes for 9 of the trouble tickets, and I was totally aware of the restrictions.

Maybe this is a farely new troubleshooting test that I received and not all of the grading bugs have been worked out.

I am going to kick back and enjoy some time not thinking about the CCIE and see what happens with the regrade before deciding to cut my losses or press on.

Sorry to hear about the exam.  It doesn't sound like you need much more study time if you maybe missed by one TS ticket.  I wish you well on the reread.

    Hey!

I am also sorry for that! But I respect your endurance as you tried it already 4 times. It means that you really try to achieve your goal which is good!

Doesn´t your company support you in this manner? I mean it is good for them to have a CCIE in their staff not?

My company gives us 2 free tries...the third try will only be payed if we pass an internal drake test where other ccie´s of the company do judge you if you are ready for the third one!

He passed configuration but was 1 ticket from passing on the TS (as it appears). So it's definately very close. Maybe the regrade will change things.

    Re: Failed 4th Attempt

I work for a premier partner.  We have one CCIE who is part owner of company.  According to my company it would be great for me to get my CCIE, however it really doesnt make much of an impact on our partnership with Cisco from going to premier to silver.

They paid for my 1st attempt and will reimbuse me for only the attempt that I actually pass.

    Re: Failed 4th Attempt

    Hi,

If you do a regrade and still fail, there are two options: either you did not carefully read the general and task specific restrictions, either you did not understand what was asked of you. Both ways, it is bad cause you actually did not fail because of technical stuff. Anyways, cross fingers and hope for the best (i guess the last ticket was really ugly if you did not touch it) on regrade. As i said to another guy on the forum, feel free to contact me if you need some advice or anything else.

    Good luck on your regrade!

    You are so close !

Anyway, good luck on your regrade.

But if you not succeed, don't give up.

I'm sure in the next attempt you gonna make it !
