BridgePoint Technologies has a direct client request for as many as 2 CCIE Network Engineers. Our client is a fast growing company and has many projects involving Global Network infrastructure that needs to be completed within the coming years. We are actively seeking 2 CCIE (LAB) level consultants, with hands on level 3 experience. All hardware is cutting edge, and this opportununity will provide exposre to world wide networks.

Job description:

Under the general supervision of the Head of Network Services; the Network Engineer is to participate in the design, and participate in the implementation, and operation of a large global enterprise data communication network. The main objective of this position is the long-term design and operation of a complex corporate network, to develop and support connectivity to several outside networks, and to provide remedial services to network faults in order to meet the Institution's objectives.

A primary activity of the Network Engineer is to provide support for all network system related issues including; firewalls, VPN, switches, routers, IDP, etc. This individual will also be responsible for network traffic monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting. The Network Engineer will also liaise with vendors and maintain Clients / service provider relationships.

The incumbent is required to be highly qualified for a large variety of networking technologies, to possess excellent analytical skills and to demonstrate a high degree of interpersonal abilities. This individual will interact with other Infrastructure personnel as well as other Client and third-party individuals.


Functions:
* Assists in configuration and installation of data communications equipment as needed.
* Acts as an escalation point for network problems.
* Assists in the configuration and installation of network devices.
* Maintains and documents the network system.
* Assists with the implementation of network standards and procedures.
* Monitors and reports network problems.
* Maintains purchase orders and maintenance agreements.
* Interfaces closely with production services staff.
* Evaluates customer requests or project tasks, analyzes requirements and pertinent technical information, then develops and implements quality, cost-effective solutions.
* Installs, customizes, and tests network communications systems.
* Reviews current network system configurations and performance, reviews technical reports, makes recommendations and assists with design solutions to meet short- and long-range goals.
* Provides operational and technical support of advanced information network hardware and software.
* Analyzes and participates in the development of security standardization and implementation of security controls for local and wide area networks.
* Participates in the development and enforcement of networking systems standards and policies for connected computing environments.
* Reviews problem reporting and customer request systems and updates status or resolution text with current information.
* Keeps professional skills updated and consistent with current information systems networking technology and desktop workstations.


BREAKDOWN OF TASKS


DAILY TASKS

** Intranet / Extranet / Internet Networks
o Maintain and oversee project activities.
o Troubleshoot reported problems and issues.
o Process firewall policy change requests.
o Process VPN user and gateway change requests.
o System performance review, monitoring and supervision.
o Log review and analysis.
** Cisco Switch and Router Environment
o Process configuration, routing and feature change requests as needed.
o Troubleshoot reported problems and issues as needed.
o System review, monitoring and supervision.
o Log review and analysis.
** General Administrative Tasks and Activities
o Update the DK HelpDesk application for all work and activities performed in a timely manner.
o Perform daily system checks for all network systems.


WEEKLY TASKS

** Intranet / Extranet / Internet Networks
o Coordinate and manage the activities, tasks and duties for network related projects with a focus on the WAN.
o Provide system statistics and reports on performance, workload and overall operability of current networks and systems.
** Cisco Switch and Router Environment
o assist with the design and implementation of network solutions
o Apply major network infrastructure changes and updates.
** Documentation and Administration
o Update documentation and procedures for domains and systems which you are responsible.
o Update the time tracking application in an appropriate manner.
o Attend weekly infrastructure team meetings to discuss projects and tasks.
o Update the Journyx Time Tracking application for all work and activities performed in a timely manner.


MONTHLY / QUARTERLY TASKS

** Intranet / Extranet / Internet Networks
o Oversee the projects within this domain and ensure that all work is being performed according to scheduled timeframe.
o Work with internal Clients and external third party individuals on project related activities.
o Perform system updates and upgrades as needed.
o Perform disaster recovery and backup system testing (can also be done on a quarterly basis).
** Cisco Switch and Router Environment
o Perform system updates and upgrades as needed.
o Perform disaster recovery and backup system testing (can also be done on a quarterly basis).
** Disaster Recovery Testing and Readiness of Major System Components.
o Perform DR testing on a regular basis for all applicable systems within the Intranet / Extranet / Internet networks
** Documentation and Administration
o Participate in conference calls with all offices discussing existing projects, tasks and assignments.
o Research new technologies and systems which may provide improvements to existing systems.
